  • Somalia on Google Earth
  • Summary of Combat
    Operations Document
    for 3 October 1993
  • Simply put, Google Earth is probably the coolest program to hit the internet in a long time. It allows ordinary people to view satellite images from all over the world in a simple to use program. Search addresses, landmarks, view terrain features and 3D buildings in the larger cities.

If you haven't already downloaded this program, you can get it here - Google Earth. It's small, it's free and it's easy to use.

That being said, clicking the links below will open Google Earth on your computer ( if you have it installed ) and zoom into my Placemarks from areas around Mogadishu.

Do you use Google Earth and know some areas around Mogadishu you'd like added? Email Me

    Mogadishu, Somalia

University Compound - I guess this place was at one time an international University. While I was there, this was the primary base of operations for the 10th Mountain Division in Somalia. Except for a few towards the top, it seems as if all the buildings have been demolished since I was there.

Mogadishu Airport - Primary base of operations for all supplies, troops and personel coming into and leaving the country of Somalia.
